ITALIA P69 has now been ported to Midtown Madness 2.
A vehicle from a Nintendo 64 port of Cruis’n USA.
This car is based off the Ferrari Testarossa 512.
Another lack of detail and attention to detail model from Midway – buuut that’s not a negative, instead it’s a title that has charm. As much as many dislike it, and considered it a butchered port.
Modifications to the mesh and textures were made – Mesh required to be reworked a bit to allow it to actually render correctly in MM2. Porting graphic designers somewhat abused the method of Alpha Clip here, no wheel arches therefore using Alpha Clip method for MM2 wasn’t going to work. Considering that anything behind those faces are culled.
Textures were also reworked to prevent oddities in alpha channel, and yeah I had to do this for all variants too.
Cruis’n titles are not really known for physics, or if there really was any in USA. So I did what I could to reflect that in Angel Studio’s methods. This means no suspension travel at all, you also won’t be able to really drift out either.
It’s purely for nostalgic reasons, and nothing else 🙂
